The author not only offers exhaustive critical discussions of the prodigy poet's work--largely neglected during the past century--but also gives a detailed description of his life and the cultural, artistic, and political environment of the time. Bryant also describes Ho's years in the Chinese civil service, historical issues of the time, Ho's role as an advocate of Archaism, and many of his contemporaries. 作者簡介
Daniel Bryant, Ph.D. (1978) in Chinese, University of British Columbia, is Professor of Chinese at the University of Victoria. His work has concentrated on poetry of the T'ang, Five Dynasties, and Ming periods.
