Without taking up arms in the long-standing and ferocious debate about the nature of Jesus Christ and God, Gleede (U. of Zurich, Switzerland) examines a philological problem concerning the labeling of a particular position within it. The term did not exist in ancient Greek, so was not used in the immediate post-Chalcodonian initiation of the debate, but was introduced into the debate probably through editions of John of Damascus during the late 16th and 17th centuries. 作者簡介
Benjamin J. Gleede, Ph.D. (2008) in Theology, University of Tubingen, is research fellow at the University of Zurich. He has published mainly on Neoplatonism and ancient Christianity and the history of Christology.
