Harbin to Hanoi examines the relationship between the urban built environment and history of colonialism and imperialism on the China coast from 1840-1940. This multidisciplinary study brings together scholars of city planning, architecture, and Asian and imperial history. It provides a detailed picture of how colonization worked both at the top and at the bottom levels of the society, and how it was expressed in stone, iron and concrete.
作者簡介
Laura Victoir teaches in the History Department at Hunter College, City University of New York. Victor Zatsepine is a research assistant professor of history at the University of Hong Kong.
