Travel journalism has experienced enormous growth over recent decades, with a record number of media organizations now involved in producing information for tourists in one way or another. Correspondingly, journalism and media scholars have begun to pay more attention to this phenomenon. This book gives a comprehensive overview of the burgeoning field of travel journalism studies. Folker Hanusch is a former journalist and now Senior Research Fellow in Journalism at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He has published widely in the area of comparative journalism studies, journalism culture, lifestyle journalism, Indigenous journalism, and journalism and suffering.

Elfriede Fursich is Research Associate Professor of Communication at Boston College, USA. Her research and teaching focus on issues of globalization, mobility, media criticism and popular culture.
