商品簡介

Benson seeks to analyze social justice leader Malcolm X’s importance as a historical revolutionary force during the 1960s to 1970s. He examines the history of the Pan-Africanist educational institution Malcolm X University--founded in Durham and Greensboro, North Carolina, in the late 1960s--and the educational and social philosophies of Malcolm X, as well as the rise of Black Power activism. The book investigates the Black Power movement, which mobilized millions of Black people in America to go beyond the social integration efforts of the Civil Rights movement and focus instead on social, political, and economic empowerment.
