Having worked and published extensively on child sexual abuse, Taylor (U. of Ballarat, Australia) argues that the law neither values nor pursues either truth or justice when it comes to intrafamilial sexual abuse; and that despite judicial rhetoric, the results of legal processes reflect dominant social, economic, and gender inequalities. Her purpose here is to expose the fundamental structures in legal process that inhibit neutrality, and reveal the predilection to make trials into sites for dominant masculinist stories.
