Changing State-Society Relations in Contemporary China

Editors Wei and Lijun present readers with a collection of academic essays and scholarly articles focused on various aspects of the intersection of state and society in contemporary China, the impact of reforms, and the ongoing evolution of the relationship between society and the state. The editors have organized the thirteen selections that make up the main body of the text in three parts devoted to changing social classes and social groups in China, growing new social forces in China, and approaching the Chinese state.
