化學概論(簡體書)

本書是用英語編寫的基礎化學教材。之所以冠名為“General Chemistry”，是因為在教學改革不斷深化的形勢下，要求有一門課程能夠承擔引領學生進入化學科學領域的重要職責。 “General Chemistry”是化學的總綱，在這本書上體現了這種認識和責任。大學一年級的學生不僅可以從這門課中得到對化學科學的系統化認識，更重要的是得到對化學研究科學方法的感知。 本書系統介紹了包括動力學、熱力學、原子結構和周期表、化學鍵和分子結構、化學平衡等內容。縱觀整部教材，編者在教學方法及理念上吸收了國外眾多優秀教材的長處。如：將近代科學史貫穿于整部教材之中，使學生在學習過程中把握化學發展的脈絡；灌輸化學研究的科學理念；強調對實驗結果歸納總結的重要性，明確指出理論模型是人的創造，其任務是對實驗結果進行解釋和演繹；在發展過程中必須經過不斷的修正，才能使其趨近客觀事實。這些均有助于提高學生的科學素養，也是在雙語教學中特別應向先進的教學體系學習的。相信此書的出版將會推進化學教學體系的科學化進程。 基礎課中引入雙語教學會對學生的英語能力，特別是專業英語的能力產生極大的促進作用。 本書可作為大學教育的化學基礎課教材，還可以作為教師以及對化學科學的研究方法有興趣的各行業人員的參考書。本書還特別有助于學習科技英語的學生和從事科技翻譯的人員掌握有關化學知識和相關的專業英語。
