商品簡介
Drawing on interviews with Internet researchers from across the globe who work in a wide array of disciplines and online venues, this book takes a rhetorical, interdisciplinary, case-based approach to ethical issues in Internet research, in an effort to aid researchers in ethical decision making, especially in qualitative research projects. The authors, both teachers of English and interactive media studies at Miami University, provide an overview of the regulatory frameworks and national and international law relevant to Internet research, and present case studies documenting a range of ethical challenges and solutions, with special attention paid to cross-cultural issues. Discussion includes domains that have been relatively neglected in Internet research ethics, such as massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs), blogs, and social networking sites.
