商品簡介
The second of two volumes examining the religious conflicts in Europe during one of the most eventful periods. Surveying, summarizing, and juxtaposing the various historical interpretations, the 21 essays cover visions of reform, programs for change, and outcomes in most countries or regions of Europe. Planned chapters on gender relations, Ashkenazic Jews, and a few other topics never made it, but the scope and depth of what did provides an extraordinarily useful reference for specialists and non-specialists alike. Illustrated only by a few maps. Volume one addresses structures and assertions. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
