Arthur Conan Doyle (May 22, 1859 – July 7, 1930) was a Scottish physician and writer, most noted for his stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes, which are generally considered a major innovation in the field of crime fiction. He was a prolific writer whose other works include science fiction stories, historical novels, plays and romances, poetry, and non-fiction.

English author H. G. Wells is best known for his work in the science fiction genre. He was also a prolific writer in many other genres, including contemporary novels, history, politics and social commentary, even writing text books and rules for war games. He was born on September 21, 1866 and died on August 13, 1946.

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (January 27, 1832 – January 14, 1898), better known by the pseudonym Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon, and photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky," all examples of the genre of literary nonsense. He is noted for his facility at word-play, logic, and fantasy.

Today, he is one of the most translated authors in the world.
