And at school she strikes up a friendship with a boy named Barrett. Joplin brings her new friends together, only to learn that Sofie is trapped in a desperate situation, powerless to prevent an unthinkable outcome.
Joplin and Barrett want desperately to help her. But nothing is as it seems. As one surprise follows another and the impossible becomes real, Joplin and Barret must find the key that unlocks the very nature of time―as a life hangs in the balance.
