This guide for teaching comparison and contrast strategies directly to students is part of a series bringing research-based instruction practices into the classroom. Each guide in the series focuses on one strategy from the publisher's book The Strategic Teacher: Selecting the Right Research-Based Strategy for Every Lesson. The book helps teachers lead students through four phases of comparison and contrast. Teachers are encouraged to design their own lessons, using a complete model lesson and sample lessons designed by real-life teachers as inspiration. The book includes planning and reflection activities with space for written notes, plus student worksheets, some with examples of how real students completed them.
