Creativity and Innovation in Language Education

Language scholars mostly in Italy but also Iberia, the rest of Europe, and Canada explore how creativity is and can be linked to culture and language use, language teaching, business settings, and technology. The topics include evaluating creativity and innovation in the discourse of second-language teachers, using films as a second and foreign language acquisition resource, voices from two European projects on intercultural communication in academic and professional settings, online creative tasks to enhance the intercultural value of a multilingual group of students of Italian, and an on-line course for the autonomous learning of Swahili through literature. Carmen Argondizzo is Professor of English Linguistics at the University of Calabria (Italy), where she teaches students majoring in Economics and Political Science. Her research interests focus on discourse analysis and related pedagogical issues. She coordinates European projects aimed at enhancing students’ autonomous language learning and at promoting multilingualism and multiculturalism within the academic and enterprise sectors.
