The South China Sea Disputes and Law of the Sea

In this volume, Jayakumar, Koh, and Beckman collect a variety of essays, opinions, and articles from former judges and legal advisors to the various regional nations, as well as scholars of both law and geography that together provide a comprehensive analysis of the framework of international law and its application to territorial disputes in the South China Sea. Specific subjects covered include offshore features subject to claims of sovereignty, defining the boundary between land and sea, maritime zones from islands and rocks, maritime delimitation and offshore features, rights and jurisdiction over resources, and rights and obligations in areas of overlapping maritime claims.
