Evidence in International Litigation

Amerasinghe (Institute of International Law) describes the principles of evidence and proof in international disputes decided by international tribunals. He begins by discussing the sources of the law and then examines a number of general principles such as the obligation of parties to cooperate and various standards of proof. The final four chapters address issues of evidence particular to specific tribunals such as the International Court of Justice and the Iran-US Claims Tribunal. C.F.Amerasinghe is a Ph.D.and LL.D. of the University of Cambridge and is a Member of the Institut de droit international. He was a member of the UN Administrative Tribunal, New York and a member of the Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal. He has also been, inter alia, a Professor and Honorary Professor of Law of the University of Ceylon.
