This book presents an in-depth overview of various electrolytes for electrochemical supercapacitors. The effects of the electrolyte properties on the performance of electrochemical supercapacitors are analyzed in depth. The principles and methods to design and optimize the electrolytes for electrochemical supercapacitors are highlighted through extensive analysis of the literature. The interplay between the electrolytes and active electrode materials and inactive components (current collectors, binders, and separators) are discussed. This is concluded by the challenges they presently face and the outlook for their future use.

作者簡介

Dr. Cheng Zhong is an Associate Professor in Department of Materials Science at Tianjin University, where his research focuses on the development of nanostructured materials for electrochemical and electrocatalysis applications. Prior to joining the faculty at Tianjin University, Dr. Zhong worked as an Associate Professor in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Zhong received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Fudan University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science from Fudan University, China.

Dr. Yida Deng is a Professor in Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Tianjin University. Dr. Deng received his Ph. D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2006. His research interests include metal and metal oxide nanostructures for electrochemical and energy applications.

Dr. Wenbin Hu is a Professor and Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tianjin University. Dr. Hu graduated from Central-South University with a B.Sc in 1988, and received M.Sc from Tianjin University in 1991. He obtained Ph.D. from Central-South University in 1994. Dr. Hu is a member of the expert group of advanced structural and composite materials in the new materials field of China’s 863 Program (National High-Tech Research and Development Program). He received the support by the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars of China in 2011. He has carried out a total of 16 projects by Chinese Government including the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Hu has published 110 scientific papers (SCI indexed) with more than 500 citations. Dr. Hu’s research interests focus on design, synthesis and characterization of advanced micro/nanomaterials for energy storage and conversion applications.

Dr. Daoming Sun is a Chief Technology Officer at the Suzhou LiCeram Electronic Technology Co., Ltd (LiCeram). He received his Ph.D. in Physical Electronics from the Fudan University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi’an University of Technology, China. His research focuses on the development of materials for electrochemical environmental sensor. Dr. Sun worked as team leader at LiCeram, he has successfully developed novel high sensitive sensor series that detects time of wetness for corrosion evaluation of metal.
