Michelle Burnham is a professor of English at Santa Clara University. She is the author ofFolded Selves: Colonial American Writing in the World System and the editor ofThe Female American. Eve Tavor Bannet is the George Lynn Cross Professor of English at the University of Oklahoma. She is the author ofTransatlantic Stories and the History of Reading: Migrant Fictions 1720–1810 and the coeditor ofTransatlantic Literary Studies 1660–1830.
