《新大學英語寫作教程(1)》在美國主要針對社區大學中母語為非英語國家的移民學生，符號高教司關於大學英語教學改革及4、6級考試改革的精神及政策導向。本系列教材由北大外國語學院副院長劉樹森教授、清華大學英語系副主任劉世生教授聯合總主編，對原版引進的寫作教材進行針對國內“三本”院校的本土化改編。本教材是典型的貫徹了“任務依托式”教學理念的大學英語教材，豐富多樣的詞匯、造句、段落分析批評等任務讓大多數對寫作無從下手的中國學生輕鬆把握寫作。
