Techera (director, Centre for International & Environmental Law, Macquarie U., Australia) explores the ways that sustainable development law and policy and marine environmental law norms that have developed at the international level have been translated at the local level in Pacific Island nations. She considers the extent to which support for localized approaches is contained in international law and examines national responses and implementation efforts in Pacific Island states, particularly with regards to national legal support for community-based marine management.
