In search of the true faces of art, this collection of Eddy Novarro’s portrait photography ventures from Picasso to Warhol, illustrating the photographer’s travels around the world in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. The catalog presents 80 of the greatest painters and sculptors of their time, showcasing everybody who was anybody in the international art scene. The images are juxtaposed with the artists’ works from Novarro’s personal collection, which is composed of gifts from each subject along the way. Fashioning a special portrait of the avant-garde in the fine arts of the late 20th century, this volume features artists who include Salvador Dali, Mark Rothko, Roy Lichtenstein, Giorgio de Chirico, Henry Moore, Man Ray, Willem de Kooning, Rene Magritte, and more.
作者簡介
Markus Muller is the director of the Pablo Picasso Museum in Munster, which features Germany's largest collection of Picasso's works. He is a lecturer at the University of Munster where he also studied art history, Romanic philology, and education science.
