Margit J. Mayer (born 1960) studied art history, theatre studies and stage design in Vienna. Having worked for Vogue and GQ, she was editor-in-chief of the German edition of AD Architectural Digest for a decade as of the year 2000. She has been responsible for TASCHEN's Lifestyle and Travel books since September 2011. She lives in Berlin with her pug Arthur.

Ian Phillips is editor-at-large for the German edition of Architectural Digest, and a regular contributor to Interior Design and the American edition of Elle Decor.
