This series explores current environmental issues and instills in children an ecological consciousness that will remain with them throughout their lives.
Caillou and his family go grocery shopping but not at the grocery store. They go to a farmer’s market, where Caillou learns about locally grown food and foods that have to take a plane to get to the supermarket. Caillou also finds out that strawberries are available only in summer, but he discovers all sorts of other flavors. The family chooses something new, fresh from the farm, for that night’s supper. This book will inspire children to try new fruits and vegetables at the local farmer’s market just like Caillou, while also instructing on contemporary concerns in a simple and fun way.
作者簡介
Kim Thompson is a writer and editor of numerous original scripts for Caillou and several other children's television series. She lives in Saltspring Island, British Columbia. Eric Sevigny is a graphic artist and the illustrator of numerous Caillou books, including Caillou: ABC Train, Caillou: Every Drop Counts, Caillou: Happy Holidays!, and Caillou: The Magic of Compost. He lives in Montreal, Quebec.
