Albers and Vos, who are not further identified, assume readers to be familiar with the major events and accomplishments of Dutch paleontologist Dubois (1858-1940), and here focus on the book that he was in the process of writing but never completed. Recently discovered correspondence between him and his publisher, discovered in Brill's archives, cast much additional light on his intentions and methods. The 40 letters are reproduced. In addition, they present many of his photographs at the National Museum of Natural History of the Netherlands. The work has not been indexed.
