The Quest for the Real Jesus ― Radboud Prestige Lectures by Prof. Dr. Michael Wolter

The Radboud Prestige Lectures in New Testament, held at Radbound University in Nijmegan, are intended to stimulate high level academic discussion both in the Netherlands and wider afield. The first series was held in December 2011 and is documented here by 12 papers. Theologians and New Testament scholars from Europe, South Africa, and North America explore the search for the historical Jesus from such perspectives as from Mark's Son of God to Jesus of Nazareth, contours of the historical Jesus, the Easter event as a new starting point in historical Jesus research, a critical evaluation of Gadamerian approaches and a new methodological proposed, and historical Jesus research as New Testament theology. Jan van der Watt, D.D., D.Litt, is Professor of New Testament at Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands). He published several books and numerous articles and is General editor of RBL, Area editor of EBR and Senior editor of Oxford Dictionary of the Bible and Ethics. Michael Wolter, Dr. Theol, Dr. Theol Habil. (1950) is professor of New Testament at the University of Bonn, Germany. He published major monographs and numerous articles on Paul and Luke, as well as on the ethics of the New Testament. He is also Honorary professor of the University of Pretoria (South Africa).
