Glenny (New Testament studies and Greek, U. of Northwestern St. Paul, Minnesota) analyzes the Old Testament book in a single Greek manuscript, Vaticanus (B), in its own right rather than as a stage in the developing tradition of the Hebrew book of Amos. He seeks to understand what the Septuagint text of Amos would have meant to an early Greek reader of it who did not know Hebrew and possibly did not even have access to the Hebrew text of the book.
