商品簡介
Complexity is not a problem for organizations today, it is THE problem. In order to vanquish complexity in the long term, organizations need to stop it from happening in the first place, which requires a mindset change, a fundamental shift in how managers and executives made decisions. Simplicity for Profitability is about how build this mindset. This book is about enhancing profitability by exposing, and banishing unnecessary complexity from your organization forever.
The author outlines a 6 step framework--SPRING (as in SPRING Clean)--that is made up of the first letters of the 6 steps that are required to become and stay simple. They are: standardize, prioritize, rationalize, internalize, navigate, and govern. The first three steps – standardize, prioritize, and rationalize need to happen concurrently. Their objective is to remove bad complexity and optimize good complexity. These steps are designed to build an organization that does a few things, and does them consistently, and well. They are the starting point of all simplification programs. The final three steps – internalize, navigate, and govern and about keeping good complexity in and bad complexity out. They are designed to help you to stay simple. If the first three steps are about removing complexity, the last three are about maintaining simplicity. This is an important distinction. Removing complexity is nice, but staying simple is where the long-term money is.
