Scholarship and analysis of the authors' two-volume work, International Claims: Their Settlement by Lump Sum Agreements (1975) is extended in this volume. Collects lump-sum agreements concluded between 1975 and 1995, as well as previously unavailable agreements concluded before 1975, and provides translations and annotations of these international law instruments. Agreements are studied in detail, and issues such as eligibility of claimants, substantive bases of claims, compensability of claims, and standards of compensation are discussed. The continued importance of lump sum agreements to the dynamic Law of International Claims and Law of State Responsibility is also examined.
