作者簡介
Dr Rhiannon Mason is the current Director of the International Centre for Cultural and Heritage Studies (ICCHS), Newcastle University and a Senior Lecturer in Museum, Gallery, and Heritage Studies. Her research and teaching interests are in national museums and heritage, history curatorship, identity, memory, and new museology. Rhiannon is the author of the bookMuseums, Nations, Identities: Wales and its National Museums (University of Wales Press, 2007) and has published widely in the area of museum studies. She is currently working on issues of globalisation and postnationalism and the implications for national museums. In her work Rhiannon aims to connect theoretical debates with practical concerns; her teaching and research projects frequently involve collaborating with heritage sector professionals.
Alistair Robinson is a curator who has been the Programme Director of Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art since 2002, having worked at the V&A and Science Museum and been a trustee of Kettle’s Yard. His research interests include how artists engage with museum culture, and the history of representations of the social order created in pictorial form. As well as being a practising curator who has worked both with museum collections and created exhibitions with artists, Robinson has taught students from Fine Art, History of Art, and Curating at the Royal College of Art, Newcastle, Northumbria and Sunderland Universities. He has written articles for journals including the New Statesman, and had his work reviewed in every UK broadsheet newspaper, and in academic journals including Visual Culture in Britain, as well as other national media including Radio 4 and 3.
