International Trade Law

This text introduces international trade law, particularly the law and agreements made at the World Trade Organization (WTO) and public international law, in the context of economic theory and economic policy or politics. Practical problems or case studies are provided at the ends of chapters. Along with a new co-author, this edition has revised chapters on trade remedies with new hands-on practical problems, as well as updates related to the new WTO case law, including a rewritten chapter on technical barriers to trade and new discussion of national treatment. It has new post-2011 cases like Canada--Feed-in Tariffs, China--Rare Earths, and Peru--Agricultural Products; new developments like the renewed Trade Promotion Authority in the US; the conclusion of mega-regionals such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership; and the 2014 WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement. It updates data and statistics on trade flows and other economic data, dispute settlement, trade remedy investigations and preferential trade agreements, and country classifications.
