珠還記

比喻人去而復回、物失而復得的成語"珠還合浦"，典出《後漢書．孟嘗傳》。據說合浦盛產珍珠，當年酷吏主政，搜刮勒索手段兇殘，珍珠為苟延殘喘而流徙四散。後來"嘗到官，革易前弊...去珠復還"。

《珠還記》描述極左治國生靈塗炭，抗左時賢身陷冤獄無一倖免，苟延殘喘唯有逃離家園。光陰荏苒，極左統帥壽終促成浩劫終結、左焰收斂。當局厲行撥亂反正改革開 放，糾正前愆，國計民生逐漸複元。昔日被迫去國的炎黃子孫，紛紛珠還故土，各求所願。故事主角心有餘悸，改革開放十年後才敢在故園露面，其人回鄉所見所聞 和經歷儼如史詩，交錯展現神州一隅昨天今天連串悲哀事件，平鋪直敍也扣人心弦。

作品撰於一九九六年，當年及之前的事件，於今已是時過境遷老照片。照片無言，畢竟是史實畫面，翻閱有助領悟滄海如何變桑田。

The literary style of "Return of the Pearl" is unique; its skillful use of rhymed texts and of conversations make it read like a well versed poem, and the sad and tragic events were dotted with humorous passages that make the reader sometimes laugh at human stupidities and idiosyncrasies. We hope that, during the current period of continued reform and opening up, these rare fragments of history could provide milestones in the current strides towards advancements of China, prosperity of the people, and harmony of the society.

本書特色

加拿大華文作家協會繼再版《鯨兒》一書後喜見陳錦波所著《珠還記》的誕生，又蒙美國EHGBooks公司出版及發行全世界，但願本會這次出版的叢書，是世界華文作家協會全球數千華文作家著作出版及發行於全球的前驅，畢竟華文作品是全人類的文化遺產，大家有責任把這份中華文化妥善保存並有效發揚光大！
