商品簡介

Sharpening: A Woodworker s Guide takes one of the most important aspects of maintaining a successful workshop and breaks it down into all of key areas in an easily-accessible manner. Keeping tools sharp is one of the most fundamentally important disciplines to master to ensure top-quality results. Even pre-sharpened tools will require sharpening eventually or work will suffer as a result, knowing how to maintain tools and keep them at in top working condition is essential and this book will show the reader how. Aimed at both those new to woodworking as well as the experienced woodworker, Sharpening: A Woodworker s Guide is broken down into three main sections: sharpening by hand, machine sharpening and putting the theory into practice. Traditional sharpening techniques and tools are covered as well as those using the latest innovations for both hand and machine sharpening. Areas covered

作者簡介

Ralph Laughton trained as an engineer, but did not follow that path. Instead, on leaving full-time education he embarked on a career as an editor for a specialist publisher. This led him into the world of graphic design, where he found it possible to indulge a creative passion for well over twenty years. It was at this point that he decided to take an opportunity to realise a life-long dream. He is now a full-time woodworker designing and building furniture, repairing old joinery and writing about the techniques that he has spent nearly forty years acquiring.
