In this book a brother has an autistic sister who he loves a lot, but we see through his eyes how his sister is different from him. She does not not speak words but he understands her anyway. She uses different cutlery at table but they both eat fast. She cannot always tolerate company and is sometimes rude to loved members of the family, which the brother finds embarrassing as he doesn't understand it, but he is protective to her in front of strangers. They go to different types of schools but both have fun in different ways and learn different things. Sometimes the brother gets told off even if it's been the sister's fault, but he forgives her and is always there to comfort her when she is upset. They are very different but have a lot of fun together, and love each other just the same.
