Since leaving India in 1976, I stopped being a monk and I became a mental health professional, qualifying in 1980.I have had a lot of experience in my work and career, and in the latter part was a clinical educator.My specialities are Depression and Addiction. One of the reasons for that choice seems to me to be my own lived experience of depression with anxiety and dependency type behaviours.Thus I write in this book about Spirituality goes with Depression & Addiction.It is not really a battle of opposites, because in my spiritual philosophy both good and evil are elements of a spectrum. (Hence the "goes with" part). That spectrum is Divine Cosmic Consciousness, of which we are all a part of, and therefore all participants in a learning experience. We are on our journeys, even though our ego based personality is still a "spark" of Divinity as part of the Cosmic "conflagration".
