Letters for the In-Between

A break up can leave us feeling isolated and emotionally misunderstood. Instead, we should acknowledge our mess and stand together while we navigate the moments in between--from the moment our heart broke to the moment we are finally healed. Out of fear I would not make it through the blinding pain of my break up, I wrote letters to myself in case I was ever stuck in this position again. Letters to remind myself how I made it to the other side. After months of healing and dozens of letters, I realized the words could help others. Each chapter is a letter written to help provide comfort for a particular moment in the healing process. The day we see him again. The time he finds someone new. Maybe my strange story or my most honest thoughts will let women know they are not alone as they walk through the confusing period of time after the breakup. As women we do not excel at telling each other about our vulnerabilities especially when we are young and barely hanging on to success at anything. I believe there is power in admitting we are messy. I want to address the messy moments, so we can feel a little less alone. I hope these letters help women navigate the In-Between.
