Food, Water, No Shelter is a thrilling young adult adventure story about Cori, a captive who was taken from her home against her will. She is thrust into a facility that offers its inhabitants nothing but pitiful conditions and even less information about their whereabouts. Cori wants nothing more than to be reunited with her only family member, who was also taken from his home, but as the days pass, she is losing hope.
Will the captives ever escape? Will Cori ever get back to her family? The reader will be taken on a suspenseful, action-packed journey through friendship, deception, urvival, and the inner blueprints of this triggering and utterly dehumanizing prison as Cori tries to plot her escape. Her story may be more familiar than meets the eye.

She is a high school math department chair and dolphin enrichment specialist. Although interested in creative writing from a very young age, Food, Water, No Shelter is Melissa's first novel. She has previously published several short stories and essays in various Kids' and Youth Anthologies.
