This Puppy Book and 6-Week Puppy Course have been designed with both you, the dog owner and your puppy's relationship, as well as building communication and confidence in mind. The book contains lots of information and support for all puppy owners that are looking for reward-based training to follow and build into real-life skills. From those first few nights with your puppy to teaching key skills such as recall and loose lead walking. It is also a guide of what Wolf and Whippet Dog Training covers with clients during our 6 Week Puppy Course remotely, in class and 1-2-1 training-supporting you, your puppy, and the whole family during early development with your new companion. The puppy pack outlines what you can cover with us, each behaviour is broken down into steps, plus tips and information to help you through puppy and adolescence development. Each week concentrates on a set of 3-4 behaviours to work through with your puppy. We recommend when teaching and practising skills to spend no more than 3-5 minutes daily on each behaviour, always ending on a positive for you and your puppy. Set your dog up for success by beginning in a low-distraction environment in your home and garden. As new behaviours become learnt and reliable separately introduce distraction, distance and duration by practising in new environments and slowly build. We work using reward-based training methods, adding something your puppy or dog enjoys to reward behaviour we want to see repeated. This may be treats, food, toys and through play. Building focus, trust, communication and a positive association with you through training. But most importantly to have fun together. Wolf and Whippet's focus is on puppy and dog life skills, building confidence and relationships with our canine companions!
