That Weekend We Were Millionaires

Up until last weekend, the entire focus of my twelve-year-old existence was soccer, school, and playing pranks on my sister, Maeve. (It's not my fault she's afraid of spiders!)

Then my teacher's assignment shifts that focus to what everyone else has been talking about-the biggest lottery, ever. The chance of winning it is one in eleventy billion. (So, you know, practically impossible.) But...we do. Thanks to a ticket I beg my dad to buy.

You'd think that would be the beginning of a fantastic, fun-filled story. Well, there's tons of fun, don't worry! But there's also drama-intrusive (that means nosy) reporters, greedy family members, equally greedy classmates...you get the gist. Add in a wannabe-influencer sister, my parents who never wanted to win in the first place, and a bunch of really strange situations that never would have happened to us before... and that's basically my new life.

A dream come true, yes. But, also, maybe a nightmare?

Things will get better. Right? Right!?
