The entire purpose of this book was to share with my children my missed opportunities along my life's journey...to this point. It is my hope that they would know my missed opportunities and have insight to take advantage of the opportunities that come along for them in their lives. I realized that my parents had not put down in any formally documented way the things that happened in their lives. I really wanted to share with them the experiences of my ancestors. Those are things that influenced me and led to the possibilities that I had afforded to me. I also realize that along the way my sister had done work to document my family's history, and I would know some things because of the work that she did. I would also know things about my family because of what my grandmother, great aunts and uncles told me about my family. Much of what they told me has been documented in census records, death and birth notices and records housed at the Great Salt Lake City Mormon Temple. But even more than that, I want my children to know the things that I had done, the things that I had participated, and some real missed opportunities in my life. Such as: my opportunity to become a professional model, a professional athlete, my opportunity to become a naval aviator, my opportunity to become a school principal or administrator, and my opportunity to become a college department head. Along the way I will discuss each of those opportunities as they interrelate with the rest of the events of my life, which should thereafter be documented.
