Ìyàmi-Àjé Our Mothers: Owners of the Womb of the World

The Divinity Od?and 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g?are the highest forms of female power and Divine ?#7779;ẹ. They are the most Powerful Mothers and owners of a potent energy that one can only compare to that of Orisha ?#7779;?and the Supreme God Ol鏚籯ar?Ọl麔run. No other Yor鸑?deity has more power over procreation than the Divinity Od?and 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g? the exception being ?#7779;un and Yemọja. All 鮑?women on Earth are their subordinates and make use of their ?#7779;ẹ. Both the Divinity Od?and 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g?are Deities that are highly feared and respected in Yor鸑嫮and. These Divinities and 鮑?are usually referred to by familiar names: 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g? My Mother the Sorceress; or simply by 忥嫥i, My Mother; Ẹlẹyẹ, owner of the bird; 鮑? and as 髻b?or 忥?髻b? Elderly Mother. But, regardless of the name used to refer to 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g?and 鮑? their powers are the same and intensely unique. The power of the Divinity Od?and 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g?was given to them by Ol鏚籯ar?Ọl麔run at the time of creation. The Divinity Od?was the only woman among male Orishas sent into the world. And with women's power on Earth, they were in charge of procreation, as they were and still are the owners of all wombs. In this manner, the Divinity Od? 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g? and all 鮑?control the menstrual cycles of women, thus exercising power over human creation and procreation. Given our times and the crises we face, the power of women and what they represent today is more evident than ever. This work reflects not only the power of the Divinity Od? 忥跩i ?#7779;犡犥g? and 鮑?but also their presence and influence in our daily lives; what they have represented in the past, in the present, and what they will continue to represent in the future.
