This book reviews the current status of milkfish aquaculture in the three leading milkfish-producing countries in Asia and the world: Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan. Thus, the book is divided into three parts (representing the three countries) covering all aspects of milkfish production, from research and development, mass larval production, nursery, grow-out, nutrition, post-harvest and value addition, and economics and marketing.
Overall, this book will provide information on the well established technology of milkfish aquaculture in Asia, as well as recent developments in terms of improved grow-out technology for sustainable production. Information included in this book will be useful for students, academicians, researchers as well as fish farmers all over the world. Though a very bony fish, milkfish is still a well-loved fish by many Asians around the world. Included in the Appendix are popular milkfish cuisines from Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan.
