Law, Regulation, and Control Issues of the Asian Gaming Industry

The Asian Academic Network on Commercial Gaming (AANCG) held its first conference in July 2005 on the theme of Law, Regulation and Control Issues of the Asian Gaming Industry. In the conference, remarkable public issues and their trends in the global and various Asian gaming markets were discussed, and thoughts exchanged among the leading professionals and young scholars in the area of gaming studies. As the second largest casino jurisdiction in the world in 2005, in terms if its gross gaming revenue, legal and regulation issues associated with Macau’s casino industry formed the core part of this conference, which undoubtedly provided valuable references to other existing and potential Asian gaming jurisdictions. Knowledge developed from the conference serves as an essential basis for further investigation and study of the related topics, which is the primary motivation and objective of this publication.
