Moni Odigitria: A Prepalatial Cemetery and Its Environs in the Asterousia, Southern Crete

This major work offers a thorough report on a tholos cemetery in southern Crete, surveyed and excavated beginning in 1971-1972 and intermittently through 2005, examining the cemetery and surrounding area and evaluating as well the tragic looting of the site in the 1970s. The cemetery was in use from the Early Minoan era, and much of the volume contains detailed reports on the human remains and use of the cemetery. Other chapters analyze the finds of all types, with complete concordances included for the excavated area of Tholos B, the Herakleion Museum numbers and catalog numbers, and an exhaustive bibliography. The finds and sites are recorded in a lengthy series of b&w plates. The volume is distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co.
