Expands the coverage of children's and young adult literature found in the four-volume Masterplots II: Juvenile and Young Adult Fiction Series (1991), and the four-volume Masterplots II: Juvenile and Young Adult Biography Series (1993). In addition to articles on more novels and biographical works, the supplement reviews other important literary forms, including for the first time poetry collections, plays, short-story collections, and books on art, history, sociology, and science. As in the first two sets, the 377 articles in the supplement include sections on format and content, analysis and critical context, and provide a broad range of titles by genre, time period, culture, country, and subject matter.
