Hemingway Deadlights

It is 1956, and the world-famous author has landed, booze-dazed and weary, at his home in Key West, hiding out from his fourth wife and struggling with writer's block. But the violent death of one of his many drinking companions - impaled on an antique harpoon down on the night docks - awakens Hemingway's sense of purpose.
Key West is still a semi-lawless corner of the country, and the local authorities are much more concerned by what's happening ninety miles south in Cuba, where Batista is fighting off the Communists, than by the death of a small-time smuggler/fisherman /barfly. Always a sucker for a good hunt and a reckless crusade, Hemingway takes up the challenge to find his friend's killer, a mission that takes him to the tropical heart of darkness and back again.
Hemingway Deadlights is caustic fun, even as it catches the famed novelist in his later years, considering his legacy, fighting to regain his literary prowess, and trying to single-handedly solve the injustices of a seemingly amoral modern world.
