商品簡介

Bingaman (pastoral counseling, Fordham U.) explains how to treat what he considers "new anxiety," which stems from the supermodern condition of the post-9/11 world, with a cognitive behavioral therapy approach. He discusses anxiety in general, as well as in relation to after 9/11, and focuses on the counseling of patients by taking their theological beliefs more seriously. He describes the context of supermodernity, the clinical criteria for anxiety, and cognitive behavioral therapeutic approaches and why they are best for this situation, as well as maintaining balance and boundaries when considering religion. The book originated in a Fordham U. Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education doctoral colloquium in 2005, where Bingaman was keynote presenter.
