Boston Symphony Orchestra: An Augmented Discography

North, a freelance journalist and music critic, compiles a list of recordings by the Boston Symphony Orchestra over a period of 90 years (1917-2007). In chronological order, the discography lists the works performed, soloists and choruses, session dates and venues, recording companies and producers, release dates, timing, and information related to master copies and issues, which are mostly American. In addition, discographies are included of recordings issued by the US government, by other ensembles made up of Boston Symphony musicians, and by the Boston Symphony Chamber Players. Appendices contain lists of two-track tapes, videos, and pirate recordings of live performances. Recordings by the Boston Pops are omitted.
