Such experimentalism has prompted Mermann-Jozwiak (English, Texas A&M U. at Corpus Christi) to examine the relationship between these works and theories of postmodernism. The writings of Gloria Anzaldua, Pat Mora, Helena Maria Viramontes, Norma Elia Cantu, Ana Castillo, and Sandra Cisneros are analyzed as contributing to the ongoing evolution of understandings of postmodernism.
