Stiegler (cultural development, Pompidou Center) addresses the problems that arise when the media industry targets and manipulates the attention of youth and, by so doing, seriously damages the development of individuals and the retention of cultural foundations. He describes the weakened, impoverished and ineffectual nature of contemporary educational institutions and family structures in light of this phenomena. This critique examines the impact of new technologies, and their incessant marketing, and warns about the degrading of memory and the intellectual and cultural losses that are the consequence.
