商品簡介
This anthology for students and professionals in intelligence contains readings by international contributors, mainly from the past five years, as well as some classic readings, such as a previously classified memo from 1941 from the Office of Naval Intelligence, and a 1954 report from the Doolittle Commission on the covert activities of the Central Intelligence Agency. The first half of the book focuses on the intelligence profession, and the second half goes beyond theory into practice. Some specific topics examined include ethics and intelligence after September 2001, espionage and international law, and torture and the medical profession. The book concludes with a survey of ethical conduct by interrogators, and a history of intelligence reform. This second volume reflects the many changes in the field since 2006, including the creation of the nonprofit International Intelligence Ethics Association, a clearinghouse for articles and conferences. Editor Goldman has written other books on intelligence. There is no subject index. Annotation c2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
